Meet Isla Tortuga

With an incredible turtle shape and no inhabitants, Isla Tortuga is an old volcanic boiler that covers around 130 hectares. This astonishing piece of land is located southeast of the Isabela Island. Bird Watching

The island is a collapsed volcano that is a nesting location for a variety of seabirds such as Frigate Birds and the elusive Red-Billed Tropicbird. Also, it is possible to see the famous  and unique blue-footed boobies, tropical birds and many other seabirds that nest on the island.

Dive and Snorkeling

This island is an excellent dive and snorkel spot, because of its incredible and varied marine life, which includes Stingrays, Eagle Rays, Sea Turtles, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Hammerheads, Yellowtail Surgeonfish, Parrotfish, Galapagos Groupers, Harlequin Wrasse, Gray Grunts, Tuna, Barracuda, and some rare sightings of orcas and mola molas. Perfect Climate

This island is located 2 km southeast of Isabela Island and with an extension of 1.3 km. Just like any other island in thas, like the Galapagos Islands, two seasons during the year: from December to May the warm and dry season, and from June to November the rainy season . However, the climatic seasons of the islands are conditioned by marine currents, so, temperatures vary. By its perfect tropical location, on Turtle Island the lowest temperature is 19 ° Celsius and the highest is 30 ° Celsius. Most of the days the sun bright all day with regular winds for the rest of the year. But there are with some rainy cloudy days.

FYI for visitors: The island is completely protected land so you will not be able to disembark. However, if you were hoping to get some great pictures, you can photograph some the amazing animals such as the Sea Lions, Seabirds and Marine Iguanas from the water.
